Years with MHI: 23 Years in Standard/E&S Insurance: 36 Education, Designations BA English - University of Alabama Birmingham Biography I began my insurance career in 1986 in my hometown of Birmingham, AL as a commercial casualty lines underwriter for Aetna C&S. From there I moved to Chubb & Son in 1988 to take a position as a commercial umbrella underwriter, and in 1989 jumped to the agency side to become a retail marketing specialist for national insurance broker Caroon & Black. I moved to Caroon & Black's home office in Nashville, TN to work with their in-house wholesale operation in 1992. After C&B's merger with Willis we became part of Willis' wholesale arm, then known as Stewart Smith (and now AmWins), where I worked until 1998 as a wholesale insurance broker with a focus on medium and large commercial casualty accounts. My current position at MHI is Vice President and Divisional Specialist for brokerage casualty and excess casualty accounts.
